The Invite is ready...now for the cake!

Ade's B-Day Invite. She'll be 12 this year! WOW! I can hardly believe it.
I don't know exactly how, but I get to make this cake next weekend. Why did I ever start the tradition of making my kids any shape cake they wanted? It has been fun over the years, though. I'll have to dig up some of the better ones for posting...soon! Probably after the party!

I recall a fantastic Titanic shaped cake once. Of course, there was a great giant Ice Cream iceberg.

THat was a classic... toilet paper tube smokestacks with dry ice spouting steam. Somewhere, I have a video..... did I ever give you a copy of that video?

The open mouth cake... you can do it. It's a piece of cake! hahaha... ack. Ok, tell Ade in honor of her birthday, we're going to make one just like it at the family Sunday dinner and sing happy birthday to her. We'll see whose rendition of gap mouthed cake comes out better. Oh yeah, it's on!

This one actually looks sort of easy...I think you will need to find some stiff, thin, clear plastic, cut it into a circle the size of the cake, fold it in half and slip it between the layers...that should hold the mouth open, shouldn't it??? I know, I know...easier said than done...good luck!

Wow, Bridget, that sounds complicated. Can't you just slash the darn thing?
